Posting Photos with updated software

Post by beltguy »

For several years we have encouraged folks to use our hosting account to host pictures that will be used in posts.  While the upgraded software uses a similar process as the old software, the "look" is a bit different.  The following screen capture shows the new format:

Posting Photos with new software.jpg
(click on the photo to see a larger version)

The process is pretty simple.  When you open the page where you add a post or start a new thread, you will see some tabs at the bottom.  To post a photo click on the "attachments" tab.  You will then see the text that starts with:  "If you wish to attach....." and the "Add files" button.  Click on the Add files button and you can then browse to the photo on your computer that you are using to add the post.  The photo you want to post must be on the same computer you are using to create the post.

Once the photo is uplaoded you will see the "Place inline" button.  That will add the photo in your post at the location your cursor is at.  You will see it as a link, but the photo will display once you hit the submit button.

You can repeat the process several times if desired.

Recall that we have a very large limit on file size so you should not have to resize your photo.  The software will post large photo as thumbnails and the reader can click on the thumbnail to view the larger photo.

Thanks Jim.  Great photos

For some reason iPhone photos can show up rotated.  The problem is pretty universal across most internet sites.

On our site, the thumbnails (from iPhone) photos can be oriented wonky, but clicking on the thumbnail gives you the correct orientation.
