Thanks Jim for keeping it alive.  I try to contribute when I think I have something worthwhile.  I check the site often for new posts.  Of course I wish there were more new posts, but it even seems slow over at BCM, slower than in the past.  Too many knowledgeable people have passed on or not active anymore.

Hi All.  Jim the geek here.

As I mentioned before I set up a Google Analytics account for the forum.  I used the free option which gives you less data, but still has a ton of stuff that I do not fully understand.  That said, I thought I would post a screen capture for what I think is about a three week period.

As I say, I am still trying to make sense of the data, but I thought it might be interesting to see what countries hit our forum - surprisingly none from Russia.  It also seems that USA hits spend a decent amount of time on the forum.

Analytics also gives a ton more data.  One of the interesting pieces of information is the ratio of hits by browser.  Chrome was used 5 times more often than Firefox and Safari was about half as many as Chrome (lots of Apple use - iPhone?).

Tin hat off

That's good news that the Russians have not invaded, they must be busy with other kinds of mischief. The majority of the visitors are from the US, but it would be good if there were more chapter members signing in. Part of that problem is the fact that you do not have to sign in to view messages, only if you want to post a message. Bus Grease Monkey requires membership to access, maybe that would be an approach to consider.

Well, not quite.  I just joined. Coming from a tech background, I have to say that private forums are becoming more preferable to the manipulation, surveillance, and censorship of groups organized on large silicon valley platforms... Thank you Jim for your continued efforts here. I know maintaining something like this is not easy and it takes a great passion to do. Sincerely, Matt

Thanks Matt

We have to keep this alive for many reasons.  Perhaps the most important reason is that there a huge amount of technical data in our database for a vehicle we all love.
