I bought this bus from [/b][/size]Danny Schofield Thanksgiving weekend 2021...Danny had the bus almost finished in my opinion, but I am going to make changes to suit my "needs".  I hope to add a larger shower, back up cameras, docking lights, a hitch and towing set-up, updated sound and electronics, as well as possibly upgrading the light bulbs to led... my night vision is not what it used to be!  I'm also looking into the possibility of adding solar to the bus (the new thin, flexible solar panels look very promising.) I hope and plan to make these changes without altering the appearance of the bus as much as possible... I love the classic 'look'!
I'll be off to a bit of a slow start since I had a total knee replacement on Dec.1st. so please bear with me.
I do have a question, the locks for the basement cargo doors are all labeled  ACE, with no other markings, is there a standard key available for these locks, or will I need a locksmith?

  Thanks!

Thank you for sharing your  build. The lock looks like the one I put on my 15 and is an off the shelf lock. I will try and get a picture and information  on the lock for you.

Here are some pictures of my lock. They are a little different than  yours. Mine are LSDA tubular cam locks. I don't  know if you can find a key that will work but I bet you can find new locks that will work

Hi Wayne,
Thanks for the info!  I was hoping to avoid replacing the locks if at all possible, mainly because the inside of the doors have riveted covers protecting the entire door and locking mechanism.  I plan on getting a price from a locksmith to make a key, then I'll go with the lesser cost option! I'll be stopping at the bus tomorrow so I'll get a picture of the door covers.
  Thanks again!

These pictures of the destination sign boxes are primarily for Rick, but they may be of interest to others as well. The unit with the covered bare aluminum back is from my 1975 Model 05, and the other with the open back is from my 1982 Model 10. They are essentially the same width and thickness, only the height is slightly different.

I ended up getting an RV cover for the bus since it will sit 'till Spring.  It fits pretty well and has strategically placed zippers for the RV door(s). The cover has UV protection so we didn't need to put the tire covers on.  My brother did the majority of the work since I'm still recovering from my new knee! Let's see how the cover holds up!

Rick, I am really looking forward to your progress reports.

As another person with a "bionic" knee, I can tell you that you will be back to "normal" in a short period of time.   It will seem like an eternity ,  but good adhearance to your physical thearapy regimen will have you slaving away on the bus in no time.

I have 2 questions that I hope someone can help me with...
First,  I'd like to change the rear light bulbs on my Model 10 to LED's so the bus is more visible in less than perfect conditions.  I know I can't change all the bulbs controlled by mechanical flashers. I've had good luck on my other vehicles with the 1157, and 1156 bulbs, but I haven't been able to find affordable LED's for the #67 bulbs in the marker lights.  Does anyone have a source or part #?
Second, I'd like to have a receiver installed on the bus, are there any threads detailing the process on a Model 10?  I did search the forums, but no results... I might not be doing it right.
  Thanks for any help!

Not sure about that bulb off the top of my head but I use Superbrightleds.com for everything lighting related

Rick, I am not sure why you are having problems finding information on our site about hitches for Eagles.  I put the word "hitch" in and got of ton of hits.  If you are having problems with search, let me know.

I am making my way through all the hits, but here is one reply that I made in a thread that covered a ton of subjects:

Class 3 or 5 trailer hitch. This is problematic. The rear frame structure of Eagles were not designed for large tongue loads. This can be complicated by compromised frame tubing from rust. In my project pages you will see the extent I went to to reinforce the engine cradle (where the trailer hitch structure is mounted). Even with all that reinforcing, I would not hall a trailer that had over 500 pounds of tongue weight. Equalizer hitches may help distribute the load a bit, but you are still relying on the frame structure.

Continuing on the trailer subject, the only bus that is rated for trailers is Prevost - and then it was an option. You could pull a large trailer if you used a TrailerToad (http://www.trailertoad.com/. That option takes the tongue weight off the bus. However, you still have the horizontal load. I suspect the stock Eagle frame structure (if in good condition) could pull a 10K trailer via a TrailerToad, but I would be a bit nervous - but that is just me
