Eagle problem or just my bus?
I don’t know if this is a generic Eagle thing or just my bus, but when fueling we have to just meter it in both sides. Like just trickle the fuel in or else it backs up. I have kept fuel system close to how we got it, 3/8” vents on every tank. I’m thinking about going with bigger vents? Like 1 inch or so. Don’t know what else to do...

Re: Eagle problem or just my bus?
There is always a chance that previous owners changed things, but at least on my 1975 Model 05, there is a large connecting hose between the two tanks (2-3") that equalizes the two levels. The parts manuals indicate that on up to 1972 models the connecting hose is 7/16", which is probably what you have. I don't know what year exactly they changed to the larger connecting hose, but one problem with that arrangement is that one tank can cause the other tank to overflow if the bus is parked on a slant. The single tank on Model 10's can do the same thing with the fills on both sides.

Re: Eagle problem or just my bus?
Thanks for the info Walter. I only have a 1 inch connecting hose, and it is complicated because po at some point installed a semi tank in the middle. I’m thinking that there is not enough venting, and that all the displaced air is trying to come up filler neck as we fuel.
You should be able to see in this pic, in the middle there is a t and a 1 inch line goes up to tank in old ac compartment

Yep, definitely a custom situation that could be improved upon. Wouldn't it be nice if all previous owners included a diagram of modifications that were made to supplement the manuals? It would seem to me that each tank needs a separate vent that is as high as possible in relation to the tanks that are opened up fully when fueling.
