As of 12/1/2021, a major update of the forum software was accomplished
Update: 4/20/2024: The Eagles email account at GoDaddy no longer works. I have set up a gmail account as a workaround: eaglesinternational.email@gmail.com (This link seems to work for my outlook email, but may not work for other email platforms. If it does not load, copy and paste the link in your platform.)
Update: 4/27/2024: I am getting some SQL error pages as I click on different areas of our forum. Using the back arrow and hitting the link again usually loads the page. I will wait for a day or two before I have GoDaddy look into the problem.

Bus will crank with key but won’t shut off...
Hey, another novice bus question here. Finally got the bus home, but it wasn’t starting with the ignition switch. I was jumping the starter in the back. I noticed 2 wires hanging, so I attached the one to the hot solenoid terminal. Bus cranked right up, but once it airs up, it won’t shut off with the key. It will, however, shut off via the rear master switch. Any ideas? Attached is a pic of the 2 wires I found. The yellow one is the one I attached to the solenoid to start it. The red sleeved wire goes somewhere towards the front of the bus. I assume the skinner is working because it shuts off with rear master switch. Thanks for the help.

I’m not too familiar with the original wiring, I believe when you shut master switch off it would cut off power too skinner valve, shutting off engine. I’d think you’re skinner valve control wiring is a culprit somewhere. I’d start in the rear electrical box. Do you have any wiring skematics?

I had hoped that someone with specific info would jump in here. It has been several years since I tore my rear wiring panel out, but I recall folks saying that there is a switch in the back that changes the engine start/stop from the rear panel to the front panel. I think it was a fairly obvious switch. Since you have wires dangling, someone has probably messed with that option.
