Monaco Eagle I Conversion Line

Hello. I purchased my first coach almost three years ago - a beautiful 1988 Eagle Model 15 Monaco Eagle I Conversion. I have been attempting to research the short-lived conversion line ever since. I did a few keyword searches in the forum topics, but didn't see anything substantive.

Does anyone have any information on Monaco's entry in the Eagle conversion market? I'd also appreciate hearing from any other Monaco Eagle I owners. I understand there are only a few.

Thank you in advance.
Mike

Hi Mike. Welcome to posting on the forum. I hope you will post some pictures and information about your bus.

The search engine for our site can be a bit of a challenge. Sometimes great results and sometimes not so much.

I did a search and found this thread: https://eagles-international.net/forums ... c4a6f21be6. The thread suggests he sold the Monaco/Eagle, but I thought he had it at a rally in recent years. In any case that thread has his contact information in case you want to try to track him down.

There is another thread about the 2010 Quartzsite Rally that mentions Monaco Eagles: https://eagles-international.net/forums ... c4a6f21be6. However there seems to be a lot of confusion about Marathon vs Monaco Eagles. In addition, Photobucket (grrrrrrr) has decimated that thread.

Jim,

Thank you for the welcome and the response.

The sales description in the thread is very similar to how my Eagle appears to have also been originally configured. The coach definitely has some unique elements. I continue to be amazed at the number of people with questions when I stop. I never experienced that during my prior travels.

I have attached a few photos.

Your Eagle has unique headlights and turn signal lights that I have never seen before. Do you know if it came like that from Monaco, or was it customized after they built it? It looks like the bumper corners were modified to accommodate them.

I don’t believe the coach was delivered with these headlights. The Monaco Eagle conversion in the thread shows the usual Eagle front end layout. I have assumed a prior owner reconfigured the front end when the aluminum skirting was replaced. The headlights are 1987-1989 Ford F-150 assemblies with an additional headlight pair. I only know this because I am currently replacing the headlamp bulbs and had to do a little research first.

Well, you have a one-of-a-kind Eagle light treatment then. Close-up pictures might inspire others to try it as well, although I suspect there was some custom fabrication involved. Not everyone would be willing to cut into the corner bumpers. Thanks for sharing.

Wow Mike that is a beautiful Eagle!

I tend to favor the older headlight look with dual round 5 inch bulbs. I have seen the Ford headlight conversion on older Prevost bus, but don't recall seeing that conversion on an Eagle. I have to say that it looks very good.

As mentioned, it would be great if you could post a close-up photo of the headlight so that we can see what the modifications would be.

The coach is currently at the shop. I’ll post some close up headlight pics after its return.

Seems like I have seen an Eagle with headlights similar to that before.. not sure though

Nice looking eagle and welcome aboard!

One other thing I see, it seems strange that the rear duals stick outside the body on a m15... I thought that just came from putting wide tires on a narrow bus. Just my thought
