Hi, everybody, here are some pictures of our 1968 05 eagle. Unfortunately I didn't take any pictures until I had it pretty well torn apart, so they're just pictures of bones.

HI Mason. Welcome to our forum and thanks for starting a project thread. They are always popular with our members.

As I mentioned in our email discussion, if it is at all possible, I would love to see photos of the 9 speed tower and the shift lever mechanism.

Jim

Hi Jim, hopefully I can get some pictures later today of the Shifting mechanism

Here are some pictures of my roof raise last week.
The process went like this: First I marked the uprights and torched holes(mistake) in them (above and below the cut line) Then, after attaching the jacks, I applied pressure and cut each upright, moving inward. After all the uprights were cut, I pushed up the roof, using an impact wrench on the jacks until the roof was 2 feet above the original position, allowing ample room to place the inserts in. (The total height of the roof raise was 12 1/4 in., resulting in a window height of 41 inches.) Then I proceeded to pound the inserts in.(all the torch slag caused some problems, which involved winching the roof down with come-alongs) After I finally got the roof down, (A 3 hour process) I then welded the inserts in.(Of course! )

Looks like you are deep into a complete redo, I envy your work space, I am much more cramped. Your raising the roof technique looks very solid, not every one goes to such lengths to reinforce the posts. Good luck on the rest of it. :D

Thanks DoubleEagle! Here is the finished product on the roof raise. I decided to put an upright in the middle of each window that is going to be covered, so the skin will be a little more solid.

And finally for Jim, here are pictures of the 9 speed shift linkage. What they did was use a original shift linkage rod with U-joints, allowing for a side to side motion along with a back and forth motion.
