It was worth the wait to see the pics! It is fantastic to follow you and your progress. One day I'll see it in person!

I can't imagine how many hours you have in it, I'll bet a few thousand! ;)

Superior work and it's a pleasure to see it.

Paul

Great to see you here, Steve. We were starting to get worried. I can see what has kept you away though! Great progress!

Thanks Guys,

Been busy aside from the bus too. Lets see, one of my daughters made me a granddad recently. Just before that I had a daughter graduate high school (not the same one...lol.....), took a weekend off to go to a race too.... Dale, Dan called right after he talked to you the other day to roust me about not being on the board lately...lol.....

Now I am just so darn happy about not having to grind on the steel again... :D :D

Hey Steve, How many pounds of rod did you use and what type?

Maybe you should take your welding chaps, gloves and shield, mount them in a shadow box and put them on display!

Steve she's a beaut! :D When do you think you will be doing the skins? I have a commercial air pop rivet gun if you need to use it, just let me know and I will ship it to you. I used it on my A/C bay and it works great. I'd sure love to come up and help you out...

Congratulations on you daughter's HS Graduation, AND on becomming a GRANDPA!!!
You will love being a grandpa, and it's a good thing you are getting that bus ready because before you know it, you will be taking that little one camping. We are taking our granddaughter on he first camping trip next week to Disney's Ft. Wilderness. We've been camping there for over 30 years, infact, we took her daddy there when he was her age. It's all she can talk about, she's driving her parents crazy wanting to go...so get that bus ready!

What about that #5 and that #24 and that #88

Paul, I am just guessing but I think I used about a 150 pounds of wire (flux cored). Seemed like I was stopping and picking up two 10 lb rolls every couple of weeks for a while. As for the gloves I went through about 30 pairs or so. Also replaced the lens in my hood about 10 times from the splatter and the clear protector several times from forgetting to cover it from the Rust Bullet over spray  . I can assure you though I never want to see them again....lol....

Manny, thanks for the pop riveter offer but I have already bought one from Fastenall and used it on the front surround. Its not the best of the best but it is air over hydraulic so I think it will hold out ok. And thanks for the Grandpa wishes as well. I keep watching your project thread for the seat base to show up. Is it going to work out for you? I figure you just haven't got your seat from the upholstery guy yet? Looking forward to the Sonoma race, as you know how good the 24 is there :D :D . Your 88 will come along now with the new crew chief when they get to know one another. Hope you guys come to the Cove for the 4th if your plans change. Talk to you soon buddy.

Thanks again guys

Kentucky Steve

KY Steve did you ship the seat base? I have been wondering if you finished it, but now it sounds like you sent it out. I have not received it. Did you send it UPS? If you did do you have the tracking #?

Manny, it was good to talk with you yesterday. I think I was high as a kite from the laquer thinner fumes though...lol.... Forgot to ask you what size rivets your gun will pull?? I'll be back in contact with you Monday morning about the where abouts of the seat base though.

Steve I hope you got all of that tar out. I don't know what size rivets it will pull but it seems it could pull big ones, this gun was used at an RV repair shop it looks like it is heavy duty. I'll ship it to you here is a pic of it.
