Hello Everyone,
I just added a photo of our 1990 Eagle Model 15 that we bought back in June this year. The bus I think was a gift from God for us. I went to Nashville to look at another bus we thought we wanted, but as it turned out the pictures made it look so wonderful we took a plane ride up there to maybe buy it and drive it home. Well it turned out it needed a clutch put in and you had to prime it each time it was shut down. So I started thinking I had better think about this issue. And about that time the wife came back out of the bus and told me come to look inside, so I knew there would be more to think about. I stepped up inside and it was pretty ragged out from years of use and neglect.
So we tried to back the bus out side of the garage and it did not want to move, so the guy kept on until he got it to move. I just did not have a real good feeling about it by this time. I know my skills and what I can do when i set my mind to it. So we talked for a little bit and I made him an offer, so he went to his wife and came back with the counter offer. By that time I was not looking forward to putting in a clutch and replacing fuel lines before i could start home. So i told him you have my number we will go back to Nashville and get a hotel and get some rest, and if he wanted what I offered to give me a call, and I am so happy that he did not call. We got in the motel and my son came over and I ask him if there were any buses on 31w just north of the motel, and he said he would check on his way back home and call me back.
after he left about 10 minutes I got a call and he said there were some big nice motor homes out front, and some other things in the back but to dark to see from the road, I told him I would check them out on the way to his house the next morning. As we arrived we saw many buses in the back of the lot, so we just took a look at a few and boy they were all out of the budget at that point. We saw Nichole and Mike the sales guy said to me what do you think? I said not real sure right now thinking I did not have the kind of money to spend that was on the price tag, and said that to him. He said make an offer and I will call the guy. So I made an offer that was half the asking price, and he OK all we can do it tell him and see what he will say. He went to the office and made the calls and sent email to the man.
He came back and said what he had done, but he was unable to reach him . So I said we will go to my Son's home and have Breakfast, and if he has any news call me. so I told him take us back to the car and will talk later. Just as he stopped the cart his phone rang, and he was mumbling something and ok , ok ,ok so we waved by by to him, and he hung up the phone and said, He'll take it if you do the deal today!
So the rest is history until now. and the work of changing some things around, adding a few things, and some very light paint work on the outside. The bus had been mostly redone by the guy who had it before me. This right now is not much compared to some have done here.
I will post more photos and progress as time goes on.
