August 15th??? But what year. You know it took me nine years on mine!!LOL Just kidding. As we discussed the other day I decided to remove the skin as there was a lot of corrosion behind it. These are the results. I think The after pic's look a little better than the before. Only problem I had was I dropped a BRAND new quart of POR. It hit the ground and splashed all over me. I wore it for a week!!

I know where you are coming from Eric. I just about have my Crown completed and did pretty much the same thing. Salt ate it all up. I installed new crossmembers, wheel wells, step well and flooring. Now waiting for the OEM new RCA rubber flooring and step edges to come in in order to finish it up. Nasty job. Rebuilt the rear suspension too. You must be one tough dude to be doing this work in the heat and humidity of SC!

My wife calls it something else!!LOL I try to schedule my bus work for early mornings before it heats up, but it is still pretty hot here!!! When are you going to post pic's of the crown??

I ran across this when I cut a tube out. I think it is the autorust component they poured in at the factory!! Applied by the gallon????

Sadies cancer recovery chapter two. She is now cancer free thanks in part to Gary Labombard. We thought it could be done with out removing the skin, but after an MRI (Me Ripping out the Interior) We had to do major surgery, and had to remove her skin. She is now ready for new skin!!!

Eric, What are you going to use on the sides? The jury on my experiment is still out. I have one sheet on my sample frame section and will be putting the rest on when I get back from branson. It looks fair so far but the test will be when I finish and place it in the sun. The problem is when ever I get near Byrons I tell myself to live with the seam and use aluminum. I think I can get Doug to come to my shop to help put it on. Damn that middle seam.

Has anyone ever used the electrostatic process to paint the frame of a Eagle ?,Cole Davenports Eagle's frame was painted with one and looks like the whole frame has been powder coated he uses that thing to paint almost everything under a Eagle

A amazing little gizmo the way in gets to every seam without any over spray

Wayne, I have been able to secure 350' of 5052 aluminum .080 thick. It is on a coil, and will need decoiled. After exhausting every lead on someone to decoil it I ran up on this decoiler 2 hrs from me. It was used to decoil metal for road signs. It will do up to 60" wide. Only problem is that it weighs 4500 lbs. Not exactly portable.!! I am going to pick it up next week. I think the .080 is going to work nicely. Doug and I talked and he said that would be his ideal metal.





Clifford, the guy who painted my bus does some kind of paint like that. Uses a static charge, then an activator. Look like you said like powder coat!!

As some of you know my shop was struck by lightning last year. It was a total loss of machinery, tooling parts, etc. I have slowly been getting back on my feet, but it has taken a while. Last time anyone saw the bus it looked like this.
