Re: Unique Eagle with garage above engine
I would sure like to see photos of the conversion - especially how the frame structure was modified. I suspect the rear axle and bogey are over loaded.
I have done a lot of thinking about this bus and tend to ask myself: why?

Re: Unique Eagle with garage above engine
I have been following the new owner of this Eagle on YouTube. One of the most recent posts is: LINK
He is a racer with what looks like a Corvette C6 drift car (not my idea of racing).
He has posted several YouTubes on the bus and as I watch them I get even more concerned about the integrity of this Eagle. In addition to the very large overhang, the lift gate and rear doors appear to be very heavy. Then to top that off, they load the bus with a huge amount of spare parts and consumables.
If the suspension is stock Eagle, it is grossly overloaded.

Re: Unique Eagle with garage above engine
Kind of slow on the forum, so I thought I would bring this one to the top again.
I mentioned that I follow the owner's YouTube channel - partly because some of his videos are interesting from a shop/car standpoint and partly to follow the bus saga. He has been slowly working on the bus to resolve some problems with things like the generator and other issues; He has not seemed to use it a great deal. His intention was to use it at the races and he has done that for short trips. Nothing long distance.
With race season coming up, I suspect that this unique bus will see more miles.
I sure wish that I could find more about the original build information -- especially any suspension modifications. If the builder replaced the bogey with a heavy duty aftermarket axle, I would be less worried about the overload situation
