Seann,
Great to see your work and posts here, I am relatively new to the forum as well. I am researching an electrical upgrade that may include an EG4 18kPV or (2) 6000XP. I would be transitioning the 3 roof top straight AC to modern lower consumption rooftop heat pumps that are only now rolling out. I am looking to begin battery scaling with 1 or 2 EG4 PowerPro 48V/280Ah. Charging solutions would include, shore, 12k 240vac onboard gen, an alternator fed solution (yet to be finalized), and a roof top array as well as portable secondary array(s) trailer based and/or ground based for longer term location stays.
My plan (at least today per wife approval of course) is less travel but, more point to point with established off-grid private locations that would house some support utilities in the form of larger fuel water and septic capacity. I will install those to be plug and play for seasonal migrations to and from the sites.
I would enjoy picking your brain about the electrical and getting to know you a bit on the phone to see if I can offer anything to you? I am just finishing up with mechanical and ready to move on to systems and then amenities and cosmetic in that order...
Best,
Matt

Re: Sargents 1984 Eagle with 14' Slide - New Owner Update
Hello Matt,
Well, I am not sure there is much I can offer other than pointing you to potential answers. I design systems, but rely heavily on subject matter experts and technicians, in the same way architects can't frame a house or sometimes even design workable roof lines...
One bit of advice, however... You might want to look at Inverters and Battery systems, especially if you are using 48v and Lithium, that are designed to be used in a mobile environment. The Victron inverters are used primarily in Marine environments, so they are designed to be tossed around and slam into waves. The same with the battery we used, it was originally designed to be installed into a golf cart, so connections, board placement and case design are built with a rugged outdoor environment in mind.
The last thing you want is for a critical board in the inverter to fail, or for a battery cell to short circuit, because you hit a big pothole going down the Alaskan highway. Not only could you be out of commission, it could start a fire.
I would strongly recommend finding a local installer who can at the very least recommend products they have used in the past, and preferably, do the actual work. Damian spent a decade putting power systems into Ambulances and Police cars, and had more than one story of stuff going wrong due to the rugged nature of rolling power systems. Finding a good installer may cost a bit more up front, but will save you a fortune in the long run. Given a fixed budget, in my opinion it's better to get a smaller system properly spec'd and installed, than a larger system that might have unforeseen issues.
Just a thought... You might consider starting a project thread yourself if you haven't already. Lots of great people here who may be able to help as you are going thru the process. In retrospect, I should have done the same...

Re: Silverleaf
Ah, Silverleaf, I think Newmar started using their digital dash in newer coaches. A lot of money to be made selling commodities in the sticks and staples world...
You are not alone, tank monitors are notoriously unreliable. Replaced the original units installed in this bus with the Garnet SeeLevel system, and it seems to work pretty well. They have an RV-C capable model that is supposed to integrate with Victron and display on the touchpanel. Haven't tackled that project yet, still look at the control panel itself.

Matt,
Sorry, didn't look before speaking (default setting) so I didn't realize you have a similar "New Owner" thread too. Am happy to answer any questions about upgrading the electrical, ask away. Just know that other that specifying the equipment and handling the configuration and programming, Damian's experience is what made it happen.
