Nice Paint job Paul. A little paint and and a little elbow grease sure changes the looks of a bus. OK maybe a lot of elbow grease and a little paint.

Art, You are correct, never, ever finished. But at least it keeps me out of the bars!

Thanks guys for the kind words. I just know one thing, I don't want to do another one. These things are huge!

I know it's been a while since my last post. This is just an update on what is now taking place. I'll post some pics as I get farther along in this new project.

Swapping out our 8v71n for an 8v92T with jakes.

Newly rebuilt radiator.

Stone Bennett shifter on Allison 740.

Installation of an HWH jack leveling system. It's about 99% completed, just need to run the rear hoses to the jacks. I will accomplish that when I pull the 71 out.

Installation of a Bendix Cruise, just need to run the speed sensor wire which will be finished when the 92 is installed, all else is finished.

Remove 12KW Onan genset and replace with a 12 KW Kubota late model genset.

Redo the rear axle air bags, changing to two on each side.

"While I'm at it" I'm sure there will be other work to be found and tackled, there always is!

Teaser photo attached! ;)

Paul, I am sure glad that you will be documenting the many changes you have planned for your bus. Your project thread has been one of the highest visited threads and for good reason.

Look forward to many more updates.

One more thing I forgot to add, removing the armstrong steering and putting in something easier to use, real power steering! ;)

Wow, Paul,

You just put that engine and tranny in. Why are you going to change it out to a 92?

I was made an offer I just couldn't refuse. Besides, the 92 has only about 2K miles on a complete rebuild which I have all the paperwork on.

It just has everything I want and it makes sense to do the swap.

I will have the 71 along with the Allison 740 available once I'm finished. I have a set of Jakes and high valve covers for it, just need to be installed. It's a great motor and runs very good, I just wanted more HP (470) and of course the Jakes make it a no brainer.

Everything is coming out of an 01, so the swap will be pretty straight forward.
