Our primary use of a generator for the near future will 97% of the time be to run A/C's etc. while we are on the road. For this reason I will use the Onan 10KW gas/propane air cooled for the near future. I like the spot I'm putting it for the air flow & easy access. We will reposition the muffler under the bus next to the engine muffler & wrap the header & pipe to cut down on heat. Will also insulate the overhead above the gen to cut down on sound to the interior. If this doesn't please us completely then one day we will get one of those fancy smancy diesel gensets like the big boys have! :D

John, looks like you got a good start on the ole girl. Shes looking good too. Are you guys going to the Cove for the 4th? Deb and I will be there most of the week before and the weekend of the 4th. Hope to see you there again. Didn't put two and two together on this thread till you mentioned the bus nuts rally.

Sorry we will be missing the Cove on the 4th. We are needing to take the bus back to Florida to have the Roof Airs installed. Waiting on some shrouds & materials for other things so without A/C no steel tenting on the 4th :!:

Seriously you can have all you want. I haven't disposed of them yet. We are on hold for coming to Florida. Waiting on parts. I think it will happen in July. Will give plenty of notice. Good to hear from you.

While visiting the bus in the evenings I've been hearing some strange sounds. Thought it was just that creaking sound when something is cooling off. Was mostly coming from the walls under the windows. Being that it's July 3rd & 4th here in mid SC, temperatures in the low 90's with an unheard of humidity of just above 20%, looks like it's time for some discovery tear out. That bus bathroom ain't gonna get it no more. Won't be needing those baggage shelves no more neither. And once you start of course you just keep going. Found the noise source. Metal termites, & right where all other eagles gets em too. Might as well take out some flooring too. Would'nt want to miss any of that action.

Well I wanted to show a few more tear down pictures before we get into the upfit. Unfortunately we ran into some more issues up front. Also made room for the new electrical & air locker.

John-

Nice looking job on your project. I gotta tell you, it was deja vu when I saw the rust on the frame and the look on your face! You're doing a bang-up job on puttin' the ol' girl back together. . .nice job on the wiring, and I know it must feel good to get that old wiring outta the way.

Keep on plugging!
