I'm sure this has been covered, but, my lazy fingers couldn't find it. I have an Eagle 10 1984. How much weight can she legally haul. I am hoping for 12000lbs or so and tow a little jetta.

Check your VIN Plate, it should say that 38,700 is your gross maximum. Your coach should weigh around 30,000, plus or minus. Have it weighed to know for sure. It looks like 12,000 lbs is a pipe dream. Your toad would not add much weight to the bus, but it would increase the braking load and you would have to comply with the towed vehicle requirements of your state.

The reason for the weight is we plan on tiny homing this bus for awhile.
So,
1. Water 500gal 4000lbs plus 40lbs for bladder
2. Gray water 100gal possible 800lbs plus 20lbs for bladder
3. Solar plus gen set and batteries enough for 15kw 3000lbs plus or minus
4. Wife wants full kitchen that means full size fridg. freezer, weight unknown
5. Wife wants full size washer and dryer.
6. Furniture not much needed just her and I.
7. Composting toilet no black water mess and plumbing.

Goal fully functional living just the same as we have now. Just smaller. Thus the reason we bought a 40 foot bus..

Note can't stand rv parks

I don't know so much about the model 10, But the 05 weighs about 26,500 lbs coach weight without seats. Like Double Eagle said, know your max gross vehicle weight, and i personally wouldn't exceed 38,000 lbs coach weight. With those 2 numbers, you have about 12,000 lbs for your total conversion weight.
I know a lot of people use the brakes on their toad with the bus brakes, but your stopping distance is still going to be slightly increased with a toad.
That said, there are many more knowledgeable folks then me who will come on and tell you about the model 10.

The GVW is around 38K. Eagle did not list a GVCW since they did not anticipate Eagles pulling trailers in their target market of passenger service.

We have many Eagles pushing the coach limit of 38K and pulling fairly large toads/trailers.

My 05 is 40,000 lbs fully loaded. I sometimes pull a trailer that is 15,000 lbs. Be careful pulling a trailer with a lot of tongue weight as it will over time tear the engine supports lose. I have seen it happen. You can beef up the engine supports or figure out a way to tow a trailer with little tongue weight.
PS I have a cummins 855 with a 740 trans and the larges radiator I could stuff in the space. My trailer has a front steerable axle so there is no tongue weight.
