Hi All

On another forum there was a thread about fire extinguishers. I decided that would be a good thing to document on our site.

In 2004 I wrote an article for Bus Conversions Magazine that discussed various aspects of Bus and Motor Home fires.

The two main elements of the article are:

1) The presentation of studies of causes of bus fires (conducted in Finland in 2000 and 2001)
2) Discussion of how fire extinguishing system work and what types of fire suppression materials are available.

Included in the article is a discussion of the four classes of fires and how various fire suppression agents fight the fire.

Many of you have dry powder fire extinguishers in your bus. They are not in mine. Dry power is a very poor fire suppression agent. If discharged, it will create a terrible mess and can cause significant damage to electrical systems.

This article is in the "Articles" category on the main Eagles website. There are several article there that relate to our hobby. The link is: http://eaglesinternational.net/category/articles
