I wanted to know if anyone can tell me were the air assist is for my clutch on my 19 66 eagle model 04 it is very hard to push the clutch in when shifting gears also is it possible to find a manual or any kind of schematics for this year. It has a 6v53 engine and a6 speed ZF transmission in it any information that anybody can give me would be great

These buses were never sold new in the USA. There may be someone in Canada that still has some info about them or parts for them as a number of Model 01's and 05's were sold there in the mid-60's. As you have a ZF gearbox, you might want to talk to their Canadian branch about this. It would be helpful if you had the model number of the gearbox. They may be able to give you some info. Same for searching for Eagle Model 04 Canada or Eagle bus parts Canada. Canada had some strange rules about importing buses. Any new bus that met local safety rules was OK but used buses had to be at least 15 years old at the time of importation.

I've found out that rebuilt parts for clutch air systems exist so that may point you in the right direction. I noticed that places selling Eagle parts do not list anything for clutch parts or complete assemblies. You may need to deal with a clutch specialist.

Another lead was Luke at US Coach, located in New Jersey.

This is only a guess. The model 10's air assist both the slave cylinder and the control cylinder is in the tunnel near the motor. The control cylinder is in the linkage . Eagle didn't change many things when they worked so I would think yours is the same.

Someone had posted previously that only seven Model 04's ever made it to the US, and I know of one that was crushed for salvage. Certain parts like the windshields are unobtainable, and getting parts for the transmission will be very difficult. It is best to simply adapt parts from other vehicles that can be made to work, or fabricate close copies. It's not like your bus will be in a car show where they deduct points for lack of original parts.

The bus shown belonged to Traen, a Belgian tour operator. Most of their buses had the EAGLE or EAGLE Service fleet name but a few had Traen. They had a lot of 04's back then. They were in some way related to Bus & Car and they were used to obtain performance and maintenance data. I think that Bus & Car had at least a part interest in them, at least as far as thier bus operations were concerned. Their home office was in the town of Jabbeke, between Brugge and Ostende, on the seaside. The only remains of the company today are an Opel/Peugeot/Isuzu Truck (Opel is a German car made by GM at the time, now part of PSA or Peugeot-Citroën from France) dealer. They used to have a good supply of Eagle parts on hand after the factory closed. They still had some when I visited them around 1990.

Please note the Bus & Car emblem right above the Eagle emblem on the grille. I believe it was unique to the 04. And yes, there is a Belgian town named Emblem in case anyone was interested. It is located in the Flemish (Dutch-speaking) region near the city of Mechelen, so between Brussels and Antwerp. It's main claim to fame was having a by now long-closed British Army base. And it was right down the road from Duffel, the place when the Duffle bag was invented.

I just sent them a mail and asked if there was any info they may have about the relationship between them and Bus & Car. I'll post whatever info I get on here in the future.

We had 2 model 04's in the EI club for a long time I helped change the windshield frame and installed a 6v92 TA with a 740 Allison in one.Any member know if Darcy still has their 04,neat buses with the air ride suspension no friggn monster bolts to adjust

That must have been a pretty fast and lively bus given it's a lot lighter than any other Eagle. She's about 37 feet long rather than 40 and has just two axles. On the other hand, she is 98.5 inches wide in place of 96.

No drop boxes on the 04's either to mess with
