What are the options for converting or retro fitting power steering in place of manual steering on a 1978 Silver Eagle?

Karl, folks have done the conversion, but I can't find all that great of thread to reference. The one that has a bit of information is:

http://eagles-international.net/forums/ ... f=8&t=3208

I recall seeing some info in one of the build threads but I can't find it.

I do recall that folks use a Ross HF64 box. You might find parts for the conversion at Jefferson Bus in Oklahoma city.

The pump should not be all that hard to find. Will need to be at least 2500 PSI.

I think folks have said that the Ross pump bolts up to existing bracket (would be surprised). If it does, you will need to add some significant bracing to the bracket. Eagle had a problem from the factory and offered brackets for reinforcement.

Wish I could be more help.

Jim

Thanks beltguy, this is great info to go from!
Fabricating mounts, brackets, etc. is no problem.
I did try a search here but, nothing popped up.

The search engine that is built into the forum software is not the greatest. There are two options for searching here: the forum software search and a specialized Google search. It took a lot of work (installing special software that fed Google our data), but now they seem to crawl our website and the search results are not bad.
