Ok, Ok, A man has to collect something...hotrods with plumbing, maybe? Is that a Glenbrook awaiting restoration, Yes! I mean Yes, Denise thinks I'm crazy!

Looks like a fun project. Denise could be correct. Something about our hobby infiltrates our mind and takes over, but it is all good. ( could the last statement be proof that are minds are not under our control but under the control of a bus ? )

Wow Jim, what a fun hobby.

I always thought that there were two vehicles that were way ahead of their time: 1953 Studebaker and this coach. As you already know, this is a sought after vehicle. I attended quite a few local vintage (sports car) races as both a crew member and corner worker and those folks really loved the coach as a tow vehicle since it was "vintage" as well.

When we were vendors at various FMCA rallies, I tried to visit the parking areas where the GMC clubs hung out. Fun people and really loved their vehicles (much like us Eagle folks). They invited us to be vendors at one of their rallies, but we never got it done.

Hal St Clair did a good job on his GMC he installed a 6.5 turbo GMC diesel in his quite the work of art as Hal always does

First of all, I am thrilled that Jim is using our newest forum: Our "Other" Projects. I started this forum a while back in hopes that the talented Eagle owners would share their non-Eagle projects. I know of some really fun projects that have been created/built by our members and hope that we will see a few more.

Jim H , you can never have to many RV's lol we have 2 buses,a Trek and camper van,we use the Trek 24 ft all the time for short trips and love it,the buses for long extend trips and the van which has everything even a microwave for the hard to get into places in the mountains and lakes.

We have a 32 ft filth wheel too which is about useless IMO so keep on Denise will come around if not you will have plenty of places to live

Haven't been on here for a long time and just noticed the 'new' forum.
It seems a lot of bus people just enjoy building things, not necessarily limited to busses. We still love our Eagle and do use it but always appreciated the GMC motor homes. After purchasing one a couple of years ago I just couldn't leave things alone so I just 'had' to modify it with a diesel swap. Of course I had to do it different than anyone else had done a diesel swap before (there had been less than a handful of them converted to diesel before) as I'm a 'bus guy', right?
Anyway, I got rid of the TH425 transaxle and run a modern 4l80e 4 speed overdrive trans, B/W transfer case with an IFS front axle out of a late one ton Chevy. All electronic, drive by wire with complete OBD11 diagnostics capability. Have had it running since Sept 2015 and have accumulated almost 8500 miles on the swap. Fun project and a bunch of really enthusitac GMC owners, very similar to the bussing comunity.

Hal, welcome back!

I had researched your project after Clifford mentioned it earlier in this thread. I am not at all surprised at the unique approach and the amazing attention to detail!
