With the change to our new servers, storage and bandwidth is essentially not a problem.
Mary has made some changes to the software structure so that you can upload large files (photos do not have to be resized). If the photo is fairly large, it will be displayed as a "thumbnail" that fits the screen. To get a larger view, you can hover over the photo and see if a link is available to view a larger version.
For now, we have a limit set of 4 photos per post. That can be adjusted as we get more experience and user input.
Obviously, you can still use the "image link process" to show photos from an internet address such as Photobucket or Tapatalk.

There was a "switch" that I missed, so folks could not post pictures. That has been corrected.
You should now be able to post pictures directly to the forum.

As noted in the title, you can now upload pictures directly to our site. When you start a post or reply to a post, the screen where you enter the text has a tab towards the bottom that says "Upload attachment". That is the tool you use to attach the photo.
There is no limit to the size of the file you upload (you don't have to reduce the size of your photo).
Show below is a screen capture that illustrates the process.

Uploading your Avatar is done in your profile pages. I made the size limit a bit bigger some time back, but the Avatar still needs to be pretty small.
Email me your photo and I would be glad to load it for you ( jim at eaglesinternational dot net )
I will extend the offer to anyone that wants to change/add an Avatar.

I wanted to update this thread that was started in 2014, to remind folks that we gladly host bus related photos within the various threads. I just posted a reply to another thread that I thought should be posted in this thread:
When we rebuilt the site and changed hosts several years ago, we made the decision to host photos and set the size limit so that most folks could post their photos without having to reduce the size of the file. That decision was based on two things: 1) third party photo hosting were starting to change their "free hosting" policy and holding their customers ransom and 2) our traffic is fairly limited and we thought that we would not be overwhelmed with tons of huge photos that would cause large storage costs. We currently have our software set to allow any size photo. However, our host has some sort of limit that is probably around 5 meg.
When you load large photos, they show up as large thumbnails that fill a good part of the screen. However, if they are large photos, the reader can click on them and get access to the full size photo and then they can magnify that to get some pretty awesome detail.
