LITTLE BUDDIES

I promised Pam I would put this up for her, so here goes.

In my Fotobucket account, the above photo is entitled “Little Buddies.” Just two of our five grandkids, what a pair of dinkers they seem to be. Recently they gave us the pleasure of their company for a couple of weeks on a bus trip to the Southwestern reaches of the country.

Not long ago, Lauren pointed out to her big brother a pile of sawdust on the floor of my shop. She said to him, “What’s this?” and he quickly replied, “Well, it is wood sand, I thought everyone knew that Lauren.” She will look at you with those big brown eyes and inquire, “Grandpa, where do butterflies sleep at night?”

Kids.

Slow down for three minutes to read this. It is so worth it. Take a little time out of your busy week to just think about it. Touching words from the mouth of babes.

A group of professional people posed this question to a group of 4 to 8 year-olds, 'What does love mean?' The answers they got were broader and deeper than anyone could have imagined.
See what you think.
“When my grandmother got arthritis, she couldn't bend over and paint her toenails anymore.
So my grandfather does it for her all the time, even when his hands got arthritis too. That's love.”
Rebecca- age 8

“When someone loves you, the way they say your name is different.
You just know that your name is safe in their mouth.”
Billy - age 4

"Love is when a girl puts on perfume and a boy puts on shaving cologne
and they go out and smell each other.”
Karl - age 5

“Love is when you go out to eat and give somebody
most of your French fries without making them give you any of theirs.”
Chrissy - age 6

“Love is what makes you smile when you're tired.”
Terri - age 4

“Love is when my mommy makes coffee for my daddy and she takes a sip before giving it to him,
to make sure the taste is OK.”
Danny - age 7

And my very own personal favorite.
“Grandma, when we all get to heaven, is Grandpa still going to smell that way?”
Lauren - age 7

Well, once again the time has snuck up on me and it is time to go. I have important things to do this day. One being to make up new jokes for the grand-kids when they come to visit. For instance: Why are ghosts bad at telling lies? (Because you can see right thru them!). What is dead and plays soccer? (A ghoulie) what happened when the ghost disappeared into the fog? (He was a mist).

Hey don’t snicker, amusing a small child is not all that easy, trust me. Of all the hats I wear in life, I have to admit, the one that I am most proud of is the one that reads ... Grandpa.

Have a great week.

You are one lucky fella to be able to spend quality time with your grandchildren! Ours live in Orange County CA and Seattle WA. It sucks when we can only see them every few years, they grow so fast!

Thanks for the memories!

It is not all "Peaches/Cream" these are the wife's favorites, they live in Houston (495 miles away) and it is a tank of fuel and a little more for a round tripper. We are pulling Seattle this time next year, her sister lives in Lake Terrace, exit 182.

Air conditioning fix up happens tomorrow, parts are in, looks like we will make the Texas Bus Rally in Oklahoma.

What's up with thet?

You too huh! My wife razzes me about that almost daily! I'm going to blame it on Sonnie for the recommendation!

Glad to see y'all will make it!
