Announcement Block
As of 12/1/2021, a major update of the forum software was accomplished

Update: 4/20/2024: The Eagles email account at GoDaddy no longer works. I have set up a gmail account as a workaround: eaglesinternational.email@gmail.com (This link seems to work for my outlook email, but may not work for other email platforms. If it does not load, copy and paste the link in your platform.)

Update: 4/27/2024: I am getting some SQL error pages as I click on different areas of our forum. Using the back arrow and hitting the link again usually loads the page. I will wait for a day or two before I have GoDaddy look into the problem.
update 4/28/2024 Worked on problem and crashed both the website and forum. Have now restored and will work on it in a day or two

Charter Service

Post by bussalesofky »

Been thinking about doing some small charter runs 500 mi max found a 89 Eagle with good seating, everyone else says “stay away” but as a eagle owner I can’t appreciate the look of anything else I know mechanically parts and someone to service it might be taxing if a breakdown occurs, any thought other than the obvious usual things that a eagle couldn’t perform the service just as well?

If your seated Eagle is in good mechanical condition, you might be able to establish a fun travel experience for folks.  I recall the very special first Blytheville rally where we rode in a Scenicruiser and two other vintage buses to Graceland.  You talk about folks cranking their necks for a second look at our buses.  I wrote a bit about the rally (with photos) in my blog (link),  That was not commercial, but you get the idea.

There have been charter services using Eagle in the very recent past.  You might be able to do a search and find the company and talk to them.

The big issue will be insurance. The other issue might be DOT/FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) type regulations.  For sure, you would need a CDL.

Keep us posted.

Jim I know they are aren’t the easiest to maintain and work on, then there is parts issues, but in regards to the current available buses without slandering or coming across as degrading ( which I truly am not) I’d prefer the look and eagle ride, as you say Insurance could be a issue, but I’m willing to look into it and seal the deal on the bus before it gets away, as I say these would be 500 mi max runs, and of course anything can happen but I prefer an eagle over them all.
