I would give it an A+ :D

It has been fun watching you make the repairs and modifications. Looks like great work quality.

Keep feeding us project photos.

So I have lagged behind on posting again!

But two weeks ago saturday we (me and two helpers) pulled the engine, finishing late into the night. (But it was still Saturday!)

So then I had lots of space to rebuild the rear street side bulkhead, which was way easier then the other side. I didn't have to quite remove so much steel on the street side.

So heres a bunch of pictures. Any questions, just ask! Hopefully I can get a good grade on the street side rear truss reinforcement from jim!!!

Mason, thanks for continuing to post pictures of your progress. I really appreciate your skills.

When you get the transmission cleaned up, I would love to see a close up picture or two of the shifting mechanism on the top of the trans.

How far does it need cleaned up to be presentable?? :D :D

But here are some pics. It is a one rod shifting mechanism, the rod twists side to side and moves front to back to shift.

Above the bogie, before I put any floor in, I have put down aluminum with sicaflex to protect the plywood from water. Directly above the fuel tank I have left open in case I ever have to access the top in the future.

I need the shifting tower to be clean enough to eat off of :D

The photos are fine. But the mystery continues. I looked in my parts book and it looks like both (4 speed and 5 speed) shifting systems are based on two shifting rods not the one rod system in your bus.

From photos and drawings I have collected, it looks like your system might be based on a cab over shifting system. I did another search and found this Eaton document for various shifting mechanisms but have not had time to sort through it: http://forums.aths.org/Attachment31002.aspx

If there are any numbers or logo on the transmission shifting tower, will you post them please?
