Re: Mason's 1968 model 05
On the plus side I did get to talk to Jim Sheperd and Wayne schell last week, thanks guys for all the information!
Wayne said I should put in as big of radiator as possible.
Thinking of a truck radiator, 36t x 48 w. Any thoughts on that?
Have talked to so many people is is hard to keep track, but I have decided no fan clutch.
Another exiting thing, found out the nut on the input shaft of the Dropbox was hand tight. Mine is the cotter pin loc, now I get to order a nylon locking nut.
Sorry for rambling on and on.

Seeing your bus to the bones maybe you can help us. Where do the wires that are tucked into the frame behind the drivers seat come out at. We need to know this exit point to fix some wires that were accidentally cut. The photo shows the wires going into the frame.

Sorry Darrin I can't help you with that 68 was the last year the electrical panel was on the inside.
I have not seen any wires routed inside the frame on my bus.
Sorry that I can't help much

Re: Mason's 1968 model 05
Progress is picking up now!
Mounted fan drive yesterday, now I will mount the radiator stack. (When I get a chance!)
Yes, have to take fan off to get engine in.
Finally decided to mount fan drive to engine mount, no room for any thing else!

Re: Mason's 1968 model 05
looking good. will you be able to get a shroud between the fan and the radiator? You will want a good shroud to keep the bird cool. Just because I over build things one more gusset from tube to mounting plate of the right angle box.

Hi Mason. Thanks for updating your project pages. We all love to see progress
Your fan system is interesting. I don't recall seeing one mounted to the engine rails. I am trying to picture what the engine rail support framework looks like. My guess is that you will have removable structure that you can put in place once the engine is in place. Fun approach.
Keep the pictures coming.
Jim

Re: Mason's 1968 model 05
Wayne:. Yes there will be a shroud. Planning to seal everything off so it can only go through the fan. Can't remember who told me that.
Still don't know how close I can build it to fan.
1/2"? 3/4?
Ok, ok, I may add another gusset.
(Chief engineer discouraged me on it, though)
Jim:. Have to post some more pics so you can get a better idea of what I have going on...
