Eagle 20 Brake Drums

Post by woody48348 »

Good Morning,

I'm looking for brake drums for my Eagle 20. I spoke to Eagle Nest and they can't get the Bogie and Steer drums anymore, and the drive they aren't sure about. They can have them turned as an option, but I would prefer to replace with new if anyone knows where to find them.

Thanks,
Bob and Barb

Good Morning,

I wasn't sure where to post this request, and choose the Mall forum, but maybe that wasn't the best place for everyone to view. Yeah, I spoke with Jefferson quite some time ago, but he seems really busy, and is slow to get back, but I can try again. I haven't called Goodson, and I will do that. This was a NJT bus, so not the typical Model 20. Thanks for the information, I really appreciate the help.

Bob, posting this in the Eagle Mall was OK. That is intended to be a buy and sell forum, and that was your intention. I think most folks that visit our site would probably see it. But to be on the safe side, I moved it to our General Eagle Chat.

Another vendor you could try is:

Bus Service, Inc.
605 Road 26
Sharon Springs, KS 67758
Telephone: 785-891-3714
Fax: 785-891-3529
Tech Support: 785-891-3557
Website: http://busfixx.tripod.com/busservice/

I have visited them and they seem to have a good inventory for lots of parts for our Eagles. I don't recall seeing brake drums, but maybe they would have a parts book that would have help.

Some of our members talk very highly about:

Eagle Classic Coach
352-568-2100
6678 Sr 471 Bushnell, FL 33513

My experience is that Eagle used a significant amount of standard truck parts but they did not give the industry standard number in their parts book.

Good luck in your search.

I think the NJT Eagles did use a wider brake drum and they were hub pilot with smaller(metric) stud size.if you have one off dig around it should have a Webb number and it can be matched or call Kaiser Wheel in Eugene Or. they may have the numbers for you and can get the drums their supplier has about every drum made.Another contact you may try is US Coach, Luke is good at finding parts for all the NJT coaches like GM,Eagle and MCI since he maintain buses for Suburban and others in the NJT fleet (856)794-3104

Good Morning,

I'll try both suggestions, and I've spoken to Luke many years ago, and forgot about him. I'll post on the board where I find them so other NJT owners have a resource in the future. I won't be replacing them until spring. Too cold here in Michigan, and the bus is tucked away inside for the winter. Thanks again for all the contact information, I really appreciate it.
