Re: 1966 Eagle 04
No, he mentioned that he had a 740 Allison for sale for $800, he didn't say anything about a 6-92 though. The Allison would have been nice, but i didn't want to go through the extra expense of switching to the automatic. The bus has a 6-53 in it and a mystery 6-spd manual with a bad slide clutch in reverse. The is no manufacturers plate visible on the transmission that i can find, so if you know what it is i'd love to find out so i could source some parts before we pull it out. The motor funs out fine, no smoke, good oil pressure, and i know its impossible for a 2 cycle Detroit, but i haven't found any oil leaks yet either. Anyway, any info anyone has would be appreciated.

If it don't fit, you need a bigger hammer (measure twice, cut once, throw it away, make a drink, and worry about it tomorrow)

Jason, that is a ZF transmission your best bet is install a Spicer parts are going to be hard to find for the ZF being that old.
I have Steve's number and will check and see if he has the transmission from his

Re: 1966 Eagle 04
Jason, have you checked with John here (MrBreeze) he has the manuals and you may get lucky the guy he bought his from may have the transmission from his transplant.
I checked with Steve and he sold his for scrap along with the engine

Re: 1966 Eagle 04
The name of the guy that just retired from Jefferson is Norris. I think that Ed is pretty much as good as Norris was from what I have heard if they (Jefferson) has anything on the 04s at all. Sounds to me like Clifford has it well in hand, as usual.

You're it so far! John has bought one but hasn't picked it up yet. There are other owners in Eagles International but not on the forum.
