As of 12/1/2021, a major update of the forum software was accomplished

Update: 4/20/2024: The Eagles email account at GoDaddy no longer works. I have set up a gmail account as a workaround: eaglesinternational.email@gmail.com (This link seems to work for my outlook email, but may not work for other email platforms. If it does not load, copy and paste the link in your platform.)

Update: 4/27/2024: I am getting some SQL error pages as I click on different areas of our forum. Using the back arrow and hitting the link again usually loads the page. I will wait for a day or two before I have GoDaddy look into the problem.
update 4/28/2024 Worked on problem and crashed both the website and forum. Have now restored and will work on it in a day or two

Manufacturer Plate

Post by bryanhes »

Thought I would share the Manufacture plate from the 1982 Model 10 I bought.

I did find info that the church had owned it back to at least 1998. Going to see if they have any service records or maintenance manuals Monday.

I thought that most were new with 22.5's I guess this one was new with 24.5's. Learn something new every day.

I noticed that the bogie axle gross shows more than what was recommended on the Suspension Adjustment Thread of 4000 lbs. Is the 5000 lbs. max from the maintenance manual?

Bryan, the Eagle went to 24.5 with the Brownsville model 05 for wider brake shoes Belguim built Eagle had the 22.5 along with not so good brakes lol but the Belguim built Eagles were 42,000 lbs GAW with 12r 22.5 tires

good luck

What was the reason they dropped weight ratings? Frame or axle construction?

Bryan, same axles and frame the 12r 22.5 carry more weight than 11r 24.5 tires huge difference in the ride and handling between the Eagles with 12r 22.5 I think it was a big mistake when Eagle went to 11r 24.5 tires

good luck

Ok, I never checked the tire rating difference of the two. So is that why there seems to be conflicting info about weight ratings in regards to suspension adjustment?

Here I go learning something again :o

Where did you locate this plate? I can't find anything on my bus to verify the VIN.

On Eagle 10 models the plates were above, and slightly behind, the driver's left shoulder on the wall.

If the bus is converted, the converter, hopefully, mounted the tag in a cupboard or in some other area that can be accessed.

It it the official VIN plate and really needs to be part of the bus.

Some folks say that the VIN number is stamped on a frame tube somewhere, but I never looked.

The only Vin # I have is on a very thin plate that is welded to a support brace on the rear left of the Engine compartment. I would love to have a vin plate to know what our bus has for specs. fwiw The state of AZ was ok with it and so was MT
