OK folks, this needs some explanation. John and I are both Kustom (yes with a K) car nuts. More specifically, Kustom cars out of the 40s and 50s. The Bill he refers to is Bill Hines who is a famous old time "lead spreader"

John was commissioned to transport a famous Kustom of that era from CA to KS. The person is a good friend of his and he collects some very special Kustoms.

John called a day or two ago and said that he would be leaving in a week or two and asked if I want to go with him. Then this morning he texted me and said he was on his way  . I couldn't have gone anyway, but he is sure rubbing it in that he is headed to Kustom Mecca (the greater LA area).

Here is a picture of me (yes I had hair at one time :( ) in front of the famous Barris Kustom shop in 1958 in Lynwood, CA :o

John's friend identified the car I am standing by and gave me a bit of history.

Not really Eagle stuff, but fun anyway.

WOW Jim, That Is A Great Picture ! I Kinda Remember You Showing Me It Sometime Ago.

TALK ABOUT HISTORY !!

I Returned From My Kustom Car Retrirval Just Yesterday...Over 4000 Miles And Most Of Those Were Non-Stop....I Took Care As Not To Be Caught In Snow.

I Picked Up a 1938 Ford Coupe That Was Kustomized In 1946 By George And The Late Sam Barris In Compton Ca. Said To Be The Very First Completed Kustom Done By The Barris Brothers Not Long After The End Of WW2. The Ford Was Known As The DICK FOWLER Coupe. The Car Was Delivered To The St Louis Area To A Close Friend And Fellow Barris Car Collector.

As Jim Mentioned...We Are Both Kustom Kar Nutts !! Jim And I Also Own A Few Old School Kustoms From The Good Old Days....

Well, As I See It..... All Of Our Eagle Bus Convertions Are Kustom. Just Alot Larger

Maybe Jim Could Post A Picture Or Two For Me....... Its Been So Long Since I Posted A Picture......Not Sure I Remember...(thanks jim)

Here are two photos of the Barris Kustom that John transported from CA to MO. The car's description is: Dick Fowler's 1938 Ford coupe built between 1946 and 1948.
